EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mrs. Margaret Morgan Hammond, 96, of Old Chappells Ferry Road, wife of the late Crafton Hammond passed away Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Edgefield County Hospital.

Graveside Services will be held Friday October 24, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.

Mrs. Hammond was born in Edgefield, S.C. and was the daughter of the late James Carroll and Maggie Johnson Morgan. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and worked for the Augusta Arsenal during WW II and retired later from Fort Gordon.

Survivors include 1 Son- Charles Michael Hammond; 1 Sister- Julia M. Bledsoe; 2 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Mrs. Hammond was predeceased by a son Tommy Hammond, 2 brothers- James Boyce Morgan and William Preston Morgan; 1 Sister- Sarah Brooks Barnes.
