Antiques Roadshow to Visit Charleston in August

January 5, 2015 — South Carolina ETV announces that ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, PBS’s most-watched ongoing series and a production of WGBH Boston, will visit Charleston, S.C. as part of a six-city summer tour. ANTIQUES ROADSHOW and ETV will host an all-day appraisal event on August 8, 2015. ANTIQUES ROADSHOW airs locally on ETV Mondays at 8 p.m.

Fans can apply now for chance to win a pair of tickets to ANTIQUES ROADSHOW in Charleston at pbs.org/antiques/tickets. The application deadline is Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:59pm PST.

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW is also accepting furniture submissions for the 2015 Tour. The series is looking for a few pieces of furniture to appraise and display on the set. ETV President and CEO Linda O’Bryon said “ETV is always pleased to showcase the history and culture of South Carolina beyond our borders, and Antique Roadshow’s third visit to our state is a testament to the exceptionally intriguing items and stories South Carolinians have to share.” This is the program’s second visit to Charleston, it visited Myrtle Beach in 2012. Host Mark L. Walberg is a native of Florence, S.C.

At the appraisal event, approximately 5,000 to 6,000 ticketed guests will receive free valuations of their antiques and collectibles from specialists from the country’s leading auction houses and independent dealers. Each guest is invited to bring two items for appraisal. From ANTIQUES ROADSHOWs visit to Charleston, three episodes of television will be created for inclusion in ROADSHOW’s 20th Season, airing in 2016.

Admission to an ANTIQUES ROADSHOW event is free, but tickets are required and must be obtained in advance. Ticket applications and complete ticketing rules are available on pbs.org/antiques or by dialing toll-free 1-888-762-3749.

Ticket applications must be received by Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. Tickets will be awarded by random drawing.
