Duck Hunt to Benefit Saluda Historical Society

A duck hunt to benefit the Saluda County Historical Society will be held Saturday, January 17, hosted by the Windy Hill Rod & Gun Club and the Randy Barnes Family at Padgett Pond, Saluda County.

Interested hunters are invited to contact the address below. Guides and transportation will be provided to the beaver ponds and headwaters of Padgett Pond. A light breakfast will be provided before the hunt and a mega-breakfast will be provided by members of the SCHS after the hunt.

The cost of the hunt is $100 and proceeds will be used to fund preservation of the Marsh-Johnson House and/or the Bonham House, properties of the society. Final restoration of the Bonham House is in progress and funds are needed for the completion. This is the only remaining birthplace of an Alamo Hero remaining.

Participants in each of the above hunts must abide by all rules of the Hunt Clubs, the State of South Carolina and the U.S. Government. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted during the hunt.
