Mildred Chandler Foster

CLEARWATER, S.C. – Mildred C. Foster “Granny” 98 of Hill St. Clearwater, SC, wife of the late Harrison “Dick” Foster, entered into rest January 13, 2015. We celebrate her life as Mother and Grandmother.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday January 17, 2015 at 11 AM at Sunset Memory Gardens in Graniteville, SC, with Rev. Philip Howle officiating.

Mrs. Foster was born in Huntsville, Al, after graduating high school she moved to Augusta, GA and became a career woman where she retired from King Mill. She met and married Dick in 1946 and eventually they made their home in Clearwater and raised their family. Always adventures going on, she loved turtles, gardening, traveling, sewing, camping and spending time with family and especially her grandchildren.

In 2003 she made her home at Pepper Hill where she will be remembered for her position at the end of the hall “Known to the family as her front porch” from there she read her paper and watched everyone come and go.

Survivors include her son, Grady Foster (Sybil); Daughters Dixie Mims, Susan Bishop (Glenn), Nancy Hall (David). Her cherished grandchildren, Richard Foster, Lori Corby (Randal), Scott Mims, Kristy Woodward (David), Todd Bishop (Stephanie) and Craig Jower; 5 step-grandchildren Heather Hall, Jason Hall, Jon Hall, Jeremy Hall, and Jeff Hall; 13 great grandchildren Lauren Bodie, Daniel Hager, Marie Hager, Justin Moseley, Chandler Mims, Jacob Brown, Mikayla Woodward, Mikenna Woodward, Ethan Bishop, Brayden Bishop, Mattie Jowers, Christopher Jowers and Jantzen Jowers and extended family at Pepper Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, grandson Kevin Mims and son-in-law Ernest Mims.

The Family would like to thank all the staff at Pepper Hill and Regency Hospice for the wonderful years they have given to our Mother. And to thank our church families and the visiting churches at Pepper Hill for the love and support you have shown to Mother over the years.

The family will receive friends Thursday January 15, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
