Elliott Asbury Timmerman, Sr.

LEXINGTON, S.C. – Funeral services for Elliott Asbury Timmerman “Huck”, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery, Edgefield, SC. Visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington one hour prior to the service. After interment, the family will be receiving family and friends in the Family Life Center of McKendree United Methodist Church.

Huck was born August 13, 1932 in Edgefield, SC and passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC. He was a son of the late Florence Bennett and Jesse Pascal Timmerman. Huck was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard for 7 years. Huck was a Surveyor and Crew Chief for the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 31 years. He surveyed Interstate 26 connecting Columbia to Charleston. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Marion McKnight Timmerman; sons, Elliott A. Timmerman, Jr. “Tim” and Kenneth W. Timmerman who is married to Sarah Baggott Timmerman. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Timmerman Estes (Mills), Evan Kenneth Timmerman, Larkyn Caroline Timmerman and Brynnan Rebekah Timmerman; 3 dear sisters, Blandena Wall, of Edgefield, Frances Corley, of North Myrtle Beach, Margaret Dunovant, of West Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews. Huck is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Jesse P. Timmerman, Jr. “JP” (Rilla), Robert Timmerman (Kitty), James Timmerman “Jimmy” (Annette), William “Billy” (Carole) and infant brother, Bennett Timmerman.

Memorials may be given to the cemetery fund of McKendree United Methodist Church, Attn. Marie Dorn, 7 Hickory Hill Lane, Edgefield, SC 29824. In 1973 Huck and his son, Ken surveyed and layed out the cemetery for the church. Mr. Timmerman loved gardening and flowers would be welcome also.
