Auxiliary Gift Shop: Edgefield County Hospital has a new gift shop. Stop by and see the various amount of items for sale: greeting cards, scarfs, purses, books, candy and more.  The gift shop hours are 8:00am-4:00pm.

Library News: Every Saturday in August the Library will be having a “Bring Your Own Bag (Recyclable or Plastic) & Fill It Up with our Friends of the Library Book Sale Books(paperback or hardback) for Just $5.00.

Midlands Unity Fund: Send or take check or cash to First Citizens in Edgefield or Johnston for Dollars for Mother Emanuel or send to Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 110 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC 29401. This was begun by Women in Unity and First Citizens Bank.

Blood Drive: Carey Hill Baptist Church will be hosting a Community Blood Drive at the Carey Hill Resource and Conference Center, 1591 Edgefield Road, North Augusta, SC on Sunday, August 23rd from 11:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. on the Bloodmobile. All donors will receive a free Blood Donor T-Shirt, Mini Physical and Snacks. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be 17 years or older and will receive a free Blood Donor T-Shirt, Mini Physical and Snacks. The need for blood in the CSRA is on the rise so CHBC has partnered with Shepeard Community Blood Bank to offset this summer’s blood shortage.

Back to School Service: Shaws Creek Baptist Church will have a Back to School Service, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. Free school supplies will be given out and lunch will be served.

Brown Family Reunion: The family reunion for the descendants of Perry and RuthElla Brown will be held Sunday, August 30, at 1 p.m. at the Corps of Engineers Recreation Area, Shelter One, in Parksville.
