Broadus Patterson “Pat” Lamb, Sr.

KIRKSEY, S.C. – Broadus Patterson “Pat” Lamb, Sr., 87, resident of 415 Mountain Creek Road, Troy, SC  29848, husband of Delma Johnson Lamb, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Edgefield County, July 8, 1928, he was a son of the late John Patterson and Broadus Youngblood Lamb.  He was a graduate of Edgefield High School and attended Clemson College.  Pat retired from Monsanto (formerly Chemstrand) after many years of service and was more recently employed by A P C Tri-Co Trucking.  A founding member of the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department, he served as treasurer of the department for over 25 years.  A 32nd Degree Mason, he had served as Past Master and Secretary for 24 years of the Friendship Masonic Lodge #25.  He was a charter member and Past Patron of the Roy O. Adams Chapter 289 of the OES and served as secretary for 25 years of the Grand Worder of the SC Grand Chapter of the OES, served as District Deputy of the District Grand Representative.  Pat held various appointments in the Grand Chapter and after the closing of the Roy O. Adams Chapter, he became a member of the Mary Pinkney Ouzts Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

A longtime active member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church, he also served as Sunday School Director for many years and as Church Historian.  Pat was very instrumental in securing additional property for the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of the home and a daughter, Peggy and husband Jimmy Brown of Ninety Six; four sons, Broadus P. Lamb, Jr. of Leesville, LA, John G. and wife Julie Lamb, Warren Lee and wife Sarah Lamb, all of Troy and Jeffrey A. and wife Consuelo Lamb of Greenwood; a sister, Ruby L. Blackledge of Edgefield and a brother, James H. and wife Carolyn Lamb of West Columbia; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Huffman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mac McDowell, Del Shay, Andy Johnson, Shane Byerly, Mike Byerly, Jim Lamb, Bill Maffett, Gaines Johnson and Burt Wetzel.

Honorary escort will be the Men of Mountain Creek Baptist Church along with Milton Johnson and Allen Sivertsen.

The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM Sunday.

The family is at the home on Mountain Creek Road and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00Saturday evening.
