Raffle: From October 05 – 16 the Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society and the Edgefield Preservation Association is holding a Raffle for a chance for two lucky winner to take part in a Ghost Hunt(Paranormal Investigation) out at the Old Edgefield Chain Gang Jail on Oct 30th from 10pm to 2am.  All proceeds will go to both organisations and will be tax deductible. Tickets are available at OEDGS, the Tompkins Library.

Piano Concert: Edgefield United Methodist Church is hosting a piano concert featuring Wanda Neese October 11, at 4:00PM. The public is invited.

Special Service: Red Oak Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Kenneth Morgan and his 61 years teaching Sunday School on Sunday, October 11. Mr.Morgan will teach his last lesson at 10 a.m. and a special service will follow at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow the service. Everyone is invited.

15th Annual Blessing of the Animals: The Episcopal Church of the Ridge will host this event, Sunday, October 11, at 3:00 PM in the churchyard of Our Savior in Trenton (off Hwy 121 on Church St.) Bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. Refreshments will be served to the congregation and their pets. The offering will be donated to our local food bank for help purchasing pet food. Please come, rain or shine, for a barking and meowning good time! All are welcome!

Youth Poet Laureate: The public is invited for the announcement and celebration of the first Edgefield Poet Laureate on Friday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m. at the Edgefield County Public Library, 105 Courthouse Square, Edgefield. Refreshments will be served.
