Strom Thurmond 66 Crescent 29 The Strom Thurmond Lady Rebels traveled to Crescent on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. The Lady Rebels hit the court and exploded scoring 28 points in the 1st quarter. Coach Landon Booker used the lead to give the ladies who don’t get a lot of playing time some time on the court. These ladies, as well as the starters, displayed an excellent display of skill, both offensively and defensively and led the Rebels to a 66 -29 victory. The Rebels got off to a slow start trailing the Tigers by 2 at the end of the 1st quarter and only ahead by 5 at the half. Coming out of the locker room and starting the 3rd quarter, the Rebels exploded on the court and put up 24 points in that quarter and took the lead by 18 points. The fire continued to burn in the 4th quarter as the Rebels put up another 20 points and ended the game with a victory of 73 – 49. finally started falling in the second half scoring 36 points to beat rival Saluda 53-38 in front of a capacity crowd at J.E.T. Middle School. The Lady Rebels started the game cold only making 5 field goals in the first half, but their tenacious defense kept them in the game with a halftime score of 18-17 in favor of Saluda. The Lady Rebels made 11 field goals in the second half including two 3 pointers led by the shooting of Chesnee Robinson, Kayla Adams and Cyntheria Sullivan.
