The Hunt for the Golden Egg – Seniors at Play

SeniorsThe Advertiser in last week’s paper made the comment that Easter Egg Hunts are exciting for children.  After visiting the Senior Center on Thursday morning, it is very clear to the Advertiser that egg hunts are for adults also.  These seniors were very serious in their hunt for Easter eggs.  Showing great civility, Activities Director Robin Temples at the Center asked that those with walkers or wheelchairs to go first, for they move more slowly.  Right behind them were the others who were pushing ground cover aside with their walking sticks or the toe of their shoes in order to find the special eggs. And the special eggs were gold and silver, containing money.

Ethal Butler found the golden egg and Barbara Williams found the silver one.  It was not told just how much money was in the eggs.  It definitely was a time of excitement and fun, as seen in some of the faces in the photograph, made March 24 at 10:00 a.m., just before the hunt began.
