Wardlaw Announces New Head of School

A press release below from Wardlaw Academy dated April 22.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Hulsey as our new Head of School, with his start date being July 1st.  Mr. Hulsey was raised in Columbia and comes to us with over twenty years of experience in schools in the Savannah and Charleston area.  His most recent school position was as the Head of School from 2009 to 2014 at Coastal Christian in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  In addition to his experience in schools, he served four years as a youth and college pastor at a church in Savannah.  For the last two years, he and his family have lived in rural western Lexington County and he has worked as an educational consultant for schools in the Carolinas and Georgia.

Mr. Hulsey attended the University of South Carolina, Armstrong State University, and Georgia Southern University.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Armstrong, a Masters of Education from Georgia Southern, and extensive graduate work in educational administration.  He has been married to his wife Marcy for 32 years and they have two sons: Joseph and Josiah.  Mrs. Hulsey works for CSRA, testing computer software.  Joseph, 24, is working at a church in Greenville and is a recent graduate of North Greenville University with a Christian Studies degree.  Josiah, 20, is a sophomore majoring in Secondary Education and History at Clemson University.  In their free time, Mr. Hulsey and his family enjoy Lake Murray, traveling, and attending sporting events.
