Hubbard Wins 11th Solicitor’s Race

Hubbard Wins 11th Solicitor’s Race

In a Republican run-off Rick Hubbard defeated Candice Lively in Edgefield County 601 to 284. In the four counties in this circuit, Lexington, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda, he received 60% of the vote. With 137 precincts tallied it was Hubbard: 9,870 and Lively: 6,459.
Hubbard, a Gilbert resident, was an assistant for 22 years to Donnie Myers, who is retiring as solicitor at age 71, after serving 40 years as 11th Circuit solicitor. Hubbard was an Assistant State Attorney just before the Solicitor’s race and left that job to run for Solicitor.

No one else (Democrat or Independent) is running for the post.  He is set to return to the Solicitor’s Office in January.
