Sandra Henslee Landers born Sandra Jane Henslee on February 10, 1940, departed this life on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Augusta University Medical Center. Mrs. Landers grew up in Seneca, SC but spent most of her life in Johnston, SC after relocating for her husband’s job at Kendall Mills. While she had a great passion for her family, painting, and reading, sewing was her greatest. She spent many years sewing for people in the community and making beautiful items for her family to include, but not limited to, her daughter’s wedding dress, Halloween costumes, dance costumes, doll clothing and pageant dresses all for her grandchildren. She was an educator for 30 years with the Edgefield County School District where she was very passionate about the Accelerated Reader program.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Janie Henslee of Seneca, SC, and brother, Joseph McKinley Henslee of Raleigh, NC and husband, James Floyd Landers, Sr. She was the proud mother of Stephanie Landers Forrest (Cecil Eugene Forrest, Jr.), James Floyd Landers, Jr. and Scott Andrew Landers all of Johnston, SC. Three grandchildren, Whitney Forrest Berry (Joshua Daniel Berry), Cecil Eugene Forrest III, both of North Augusta, SC and Amber Nicole Landers, of Augusta, GA and  great-grand daughter, Mckinley Elizabeth Berry.

A memorial service will be held October 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm at the Johnston United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the church social hall following the service.

Due to her incredible love of reading the family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to W.E. Parker Elementary School Library, 41 Crest Road, Edgefield, SC 29824.
