Local Man Crushed to Death by Vehicle

Forty-one year old Heath Ellerbee, of Trenton, was killed Tuesday, Oct. 6, when the vehicle on which he was working fell off its jacks and crushed him. The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Emergency Medical Services, responded to Ellerbee’s home on Dalton Lane in reference to this accident around eight in the evening. According to the ECSO report on the incident, responding deputies arrived to find EMS actively working on Ellerbee, who had been pulled from beneath the vehicle. Ellerbee was transported by EMS to Georgia Regents University. However, the Edgefield County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Ellerbee was pronounced dead at GRUs trauma center a little after nine o’clock.

    This was in poor taste. There was a family involved here with young children. This was a very insensitive thing to do. Headline – really!!! Those children did not need to see your headline – they were there. What a poor choice of words. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
